What is RSS

What is RSS?
RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. It's a system which allows you to be alerted when new content is published on a website of interest to you, without needing to visit the site itself.

How do I start using feeds?
To start receiving RSS feeds, you'll need to download a news reader. There are many free ones available - some are web-based, so can be accessed from wherever you have internet access, and others are installed locally on your computer.
Different news readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to choose one that will work with your computer.

How do RSS feeds work?
RSS readers syndicate content of interest by interpreting the raw code which the website in question provides to it automatically. The reader 'feeds' newly published articles, videos and content through to your RSS software in a clean and legible format.
